This weekend has been so adventurous!!!
Adventure Number 1 - Cracking the Coconut: When we were at the grocery store yesterday, Ashley and I decided to buy a coconut!! We REALLY wanted to open one... just to see if we could! So, between conference sessions, I googled (like I do with everything) "how to open a coconut" and decided that before doing anything else we were going to have to get the milk out. All of the ways people said to do it online involved hammers and nails and all sorts of things that I do not own!!! So... we got creative! I took the nails I had in my room for frames and use a high heel heel for the hammer. BETTER BELIEVE it worked!! Ash was so good at getting the milk out!!! She drove the nails on in and let the milk drip on out of the coconut!!! When we were sure that it was empty the only thing that was left to do was to crack the whole thing! (Please remember that this is the first time either of us have done this :D) Everything online said that you needed to wrap it in a towel and hammer it to get a clean crack! That sounded boring and I didn't have a towel I was willing to risk ripping with my heel! So, we took it outside and looked for a wall to throw it against! Well, that's what I wanted to do, but Ashley's idea to throw it on the ground was probably the more practical approach! (Actually the hammer/ heel was probably the most practical. Haha!!) She got a clean crack and pried it open!! Then we ate it! But we were having too much fun to just stop there. So, barefoot and in our sweats, we decided to go on a walk down from Tuscany to Arbor Cove hoping that James, Luke, and Rob were home. Sadly, James and Luke had gone down to Utah for the weekend. But we were still so happy to see Rob and show him what we had done and how we had been so creative and opened our coconut that we were able to enjoy eating!! Pictures will be up tomorrow, don't fret!!
Adventure Number 2- The Emergency Room: Since the boys all had Priesthood session last night Cousin and Danielle and their roommates wanted to have a girls night! Around 7pm I made my way up to the Ridge hoping to just be able to enjoy some pizza and watch a movie with the girls!! I hadn't been there for more than 2 min when Danielle said that Cuz needed to go to the emergency room. I couldn't think of anything better to do than to join them! Danielle, Casey, and I all took her to the Madison Memorial Hospital emergency room and got to sit and wait while she was getting blood samples and everything! (She's okay... there is no need to worry!!) While we were waiting this little boy came in with his parents and brother. His family was dressed snow attire as if they had been on a snow adventure of sorts. His dad was holding this 9year-old(ish) in his arms like you would a baby and on his was a wrap that looked like it was made from foam stuff and duct tape. We were all trying to listen to what had happened but all I can remember was that there was supposedly a gash about 1/4" deep and 2" wide!!! NASTY!!! I felt so bad and the boy looked like he was in too much shock to even cry!! I wanted to ask so bad what had happened but didn't think it would be appropriate! I'm sure he is okay and I hope that some day when he is older he has a really awesome scar and fantastic story!!! After he had been taken into the back, the waiting room was kind of boring... so we decided to go an explore the hospital! There wasn't too much to see other than construction. But we DID find the exercise room and I would have loved to go in, but there were some people there that I thought would have kicked us out and we still had to wait for Cousin! When she was done (only like an hour later... it wasn't too bad of a wait...) me and Cousin had to trick Danielle into staying in the car while we ran into Brolium's to pick up her "root beer keg" that they sell there. Today was her 21st and we didn't want to spoil the best surprise. I ended up falling asleep at their apartment pretty early and just stayed up there for the night!
Adventure Number 3 - BBQ/Twilight: Every once in a while Rexburg DOES have nice weather. After a very long week of snow I was so happy that today was nice! I was able to wear capris and a t-shirt and enjoy being outside for little bits! Today was Danielle's birthday (as well as their friend Josh's)! In light of this double birthday and the good spring weather... they wanted to BBQ! Seriously... probably the best meal I have had all semester! We had chicken and ribs and salad and these AMAZING mashed potatoes that Bekah made and some more delicious rolls that Cousin made!! We all just opened up the windows and sat and ate and finally enjoyed being in other people's company! I feel like in the winter so many people kind of just become a little bit "unsocial" and so it was nice to just be hanging out with people again! When were done eating we watched Twilight (2nd time in 1 week?) and I came to the conclusion that I think that movie is more of a comedy than a drama! The acting is NOT good! I feel like I am watching a high school play that isn't very well done when I watch that movie! I laughed so hard and was soooo happy to know that all the people that were watching it with me felt the same! I am normally not this critical about movies, but seriously... seriously? That movie is outta control!!
The rest of the night has been pretty chill! I finished measure mattes I have to cut for my Historical Processes Portfolio and now I am here just getting ready to get ready for bed! I love good weekends! I love weekends where I can just relax! And.. on top of these fun/interesting/unexpected adventures... it was conference weekend! Conference weekend is always soooo good! I felt like for the most part the "theme" was that the times are hard and they are going to be hard and all we can do is do our best and keep smiling. I think that is a message I need to be reminded of often!
Anyhow... I believe this is the LONGEST POST I have ever written! I will post pictures tomorrow while I am at work!! Yay for work and for the it being the LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!!! :)

A Little Random!
I am pretty sure that the best escape from everything I have had in a long time was going to the movies by myself!! Seriously though!!! It was just a break from everyone and everything for a few hours.... JUST what I needed!!! I ended up seeing Confessions of a Shopaholic! It was so cute!! LOVED it! So now I think I am going to start going to the cheap theaters more regularly! Seriously... I feel like almost every girl can relate to her on some level! I love how at the beginning she compared shopping and credit cards to men and how shopping never treats yours your poorly!! Haha... made me laugh!!!
I really want to see He's Just Not That Into You so maybe that will be my next venture!! :) (Haha. That book changed my life!!) Speaking of books. I really need to find a good outside reading book!! The Twilight Series just wasn't doing it for me. It was too mushy mushy for my likings. BUT maybe I'll have to read the 2nd and 3rd and 4th ones. Haha. I don't even know how many there are. But, I watched the movie, Twilight, and I'm pretty sure it falls under the genre of Comedy! That's just my opinion, though! When we were watching it at Jackson's I laughed when Edward was like "you are my own, personal heroin"!! Yeah... the other people watching it with me were so thrown off that a girl would be laughing at that and not just so enthralled with the story and with Edward and Bella! I am pretty sure that I am one of the few girls who really didn't like that book. But, maybe I'll have to read the others to like it more! Maybe? I don't know... we will have to see!!
So it's Friday night! I am going to my roommates Jazz combo and I'm pretty excited about it! She is awesome and has such a sweet voice!! It should be so cool! Then, after that, I am going Latin Dancing! Yeah, pretty sure this will be my first time in the 3 years I have been at BYU-I that I will be going to something like this!! It really is going to be so fun though! The people I am going with are fun so I'm excited!!! So I'm starting off the weekend well!! And... conference is tomorrow!! YAY!!! BEST WEEKEND EVER!!!

Baking Fix
So these past few days have been kind of weird! I have all of this work that I need to do and I don't even know where to begin!!! It's so frustrating but I've been going hard all semester and all of the sudden I lost my motivation and now all I want to do is bake! Today I made some banana nut bread!! It was amazing!! The other day I whipped up a batch cake mix cookies (which I discovered is probably my new favorite quicky dessert)! They were amazing! But that's really where I want to spend my time! Just baking!!! I am so unmotivated when it comes to my homework. I think, though, that a huge part of that is the fact that Rexburg decided it was going to snow in April! It's seriously so cold! NOT a fan!!!
Oh... and today when I was baking my banana bread I was watching Hairspray and totally had forgotten how much I loved that movie. I'm pretty sure that my favorite line is when Tracy is in detention and Seaweed asks her how she likes it and she replies "I'm a bad, bad girl who needs to be punished" right as Link walks in!! HAhaha. Yeah... it's a good movie!!
I want to go see Australia!! I just might go tonight by myself if no one will go with me just because I want to see it so bad! Yeah... that sounds like a good plan. Sometimes I really enjoy going to movies by myself! It clears my mind. I'm pretty sure I can thank Luke for getting me into doing that one!! Best EVER!!!

Inspired Maybe?
Haha. So this is just a short little response to the blog Maribeth wrote last Friday about turning on her ipod and listening to music and just imagining herself dancing and doing whatever! I just want to admit that I am so happy to hear that I am not the only one that does that!! Okay... so you know how when you watch movies or reality shows like The Hills and they have the super awesome music playing in the background and it fits their lives so perfectly? Yeah it's pretty cool!! Haha. Weird as it may seem... I love it when I turn on my ipod (or music anywhere) and I can imagine myself dancing in some large city somewhere and doing fun things with my closest friends! Maribeth, you are so right, music does kind of become like your own soundtrack!! I LOVE it!! I just LOVE it! Haha!

Pinhole Cameras
I have been so frustrated over my stupid pinhole cameras!! The first one I made was out of an oatmeal box. For the aluminum I just used a diet coke can (it gave me a reason to buy diet coke :D)!!! I thought it was so simple to make so actually taking the pictures wouldn't be too bad!! Haha... I guess I thought WRONG!! It was so frustrating. Last weekend I did and exposure for 20min only to later find that nothing even turned up. I guess that's all part of the experience though!! I decided that if I have to take a 20 min exposure on any pinhole then I should probably find some more light!!!
Anyhow... I have to have all of this done next week!! I was about ready to give up when finally... after giving it just one more try... IT WORKED!! I was seriously so happy!!! Yeah... they aren't the best photographs in the world but considering it was made from an aluminum can and old box... I feel pretty cool!! Haha!! Here are some examples of what I did!!

Its Been A While...
I was talking to Chelsey Heidorn a while ago about how I never write on here any more!!! It's a sad sad thing!!! So.. here I am writing!!!
Update on my life? Here it goes!! This past semester I have been serving as the Enrichment Counselor in my Relief Society! Today was the last day of the semester in there and I was released today!! It was so sad! Although it made me so super busy and stressed at times it made me really appreciate Relief Society on a whole other level!! Seriously... being a girl/woman is the BEST!!!
2nd! I was planning on just getting my degree in Studio Arts because I would be graduating this December!! However, after a long chat with Sister Jones in art advising I decided that one more semester for a BFA in photography was a better plan!! :) I really just didn't want to be down the road 10 years and regret not taking one more semester to get a better/ more prestigious degree. And... I guess I just came to the realization that if a BFA really doesn't take me anywhere it can still make me the best photographer I can be. And... what can that hurt? Chelsey made a super good point when she told me that she doesn't want much more than to be a great photographer for herself and for her family!!! Thanks Chelsey for making me realize that!!!
3rd! I have been living at Tuscany and am finally moving back up to the Ridge. FULL CIRCLE BABY!! I am soooo excited to be moving in with the girls I am moving in with! They are awesome!! And... I am so excited to be back up there! being on the other side of campus has been a much needed change but I am ready to go back!!!
4th!!! Life is just great right now! I am loving every moment of it!!! I am going to be on here more and writing more... I PROMISE!!! I'll even have to start posting pictures and all that other fun stuff again!!!
