On Saturday I got off work an hour early to go make a picnic for a little boating adventure... we wanted it to be nothing less than the best boating trip EVER!!! We had planned on leaving at 3 but that didn't happen, naturally. So around 4 we On our way out to Ririe, Logan noticed that these really dark clouds were moving right over the reservoir. So much for best boating trip ever. So we got out there and got on the boat and started heading out to one of the docs where we could have our wonderful picnic with everything a picnic requires... Sandwiches. Lemonade. Water. Sun Chips. Albertson Cookies (if you haven't had them you really NEED to!! They're amazing!) And some other cookies. We were on the doc for about 30 min when the clouds were officially moving over us and the sun was gone. Not only was the sun gone, the wind picked up. The water was choppy. Chances of any good wakeboarding/ water skiing were GONE!!! And on top of that... getting in the water was no longer even an option because there was no way to dry off without sun. Nothing but misery!!! Honestly! So.. getting off work early and making the most amazing picnic for the most amazing boating trip was almost pointless. sad? I know!!! All of the girls had towels wrapped around them as blankets because who would ever think that at the end of May it is going to rain? Sometimes i forget that I actually live in a place where the sun shining is almost nothing but wishful thinking... maybe i'll get motivated this week... haha

Can't Get it Straight.
I don't know why I am having such a hard time getting motivated this semester!! Every time I am given an assignment I get all excited about all the cool things I could do with it, but actually getting it started and getting it done the way I want... that's a whole other story.
Things I should be doing consist of:
-going to bed early
-doing homework when I have down time
-actually spending time on my ceramics projects (i REALLY do want to...)
-spending more time on my photo assignments
-putting my portfolio/ BFA application together
-going to readings (the most boring class with the most boring teacher... maybe ill just dedicate a whole post to how boring that class is)
-studying for my tests
-going to the gym everyday
-preparing my Sunday lessons before Sunday
Things I am doing:
-laying out
-eating snow cones
-spending little to no time on my homework (or in the case of readings... just not doing it :( Ahhh... i have never done that before. YIKES)
-taking trips to Utah
-playing at the sandbar
-playing at the park
-eating at Big J's
-staying up too late talking about nothing
-procrastinating
- playing flag football (I scored a touchdown last game :D )
I'm trying to figure out how to be better at time managing so that I can do it all because I really want to. AND I'm not about to give up being in the sun because the sun is hardly ever out so it's only natural and necessary that I spend time in it. It really shouldn't be that hard but I am finding it nearly impossible.
Goals for the week:
-Get homework done
-Get tan
-Eat a snoasis
...shouldn't be too hard, right???

Falls and Sundance
Soo... I went to Utah for the weekend!! Pretty much a break that I have needed for a VERY VERY long time. Me and Jocelyn went to Bridal Vail Falls and Sundance for a nice Sunday stroll!! It was such a pretty day!
The Falls.
haha. I look like such a little hiker girl with my sweatshirt tied around my waist. The river that the falls went into.

Bed too late, Up too early, Now too tired!
Since the beginning of the semester I don't think I have been getting as much sleep at night as I should be getting! A full night of rest can do a girl a lot of good! I try to tell myself this everynight around 9pm but then around 11 when I should be going to sleep is when everyone else starts to party! And... what college girl wants to miss out on a party with the roomies, right? Well... today I am feeling the consequences of these actions. What are they??? Well here's a whole list!
1. Didn't hear the alarm. Woke up. Checked the clock just to see. Was still very out of it. Read "8:30" am on the clock. Jumped out of bed frazzeled thinking that I woke up late for work AGAIN (yeah... I did that on Monday too. NOT a good thing). Started to hurry and get ready while I tried calling my boss. NO ONE answered. Tried to be quiet but couldn't help being in a hurry and accidentially slamming things. (SORRY GIRLS). Called work. No one answered. Checked the clock again and this time realized that it was not even 7 and I was NOT late for work. In fact. I still had a whole hour before I had to be there.
2. A little bit on edge. When I haven't slept in (what feels like) days I tend to be a little bit short with people. At work... not so much a good thing!
3. My attention span is short.
4. My logic is slightly off.
5. My hair looks like I just rolled out of bed.
6. I am very fidgety.
7. I don't want to do my homework. In fact... I don't want to do anything!!
My could have been going so much better if I had just gone to bed like a normal person at a normal hour. SERIOUSLY!!! 230??? WHY??? I could have maybe seen my clock right, been up with out waking up everyone else, been a little bit nicer to the people at work, I maybe would have gotten some homework done, I would have paid better attention in class, AND I wouldn't be blogging right now. My day could have already been going so much better.

Ice Cream Enthusiast

Ice cream really is an invention unlike any other. You can go almost anywhere in the world and enjoy it because EVERYONE loves it. (Although some may prefer frozen yogurt or gelato or something else... its all the same basic concept.) Today, I tried Ben and Jerry Karamel Sutra which contains "A Core of Soft Caramel Encircled by Chocolate & Caramel Ice Creams & Fudge Chips." I am sure that it was the blending of the Fudge Chips and Ice Cream that made me love it so much. Usually, fudge chips in ice cream will add just that extra something to make it a perfect little treat!!! But here is the thing that I love specifically about Ben and Jerry's... not only is it Vermont's Finest and has the BEST names for each individual flavor, and tastes like something I would invent in a dream, but it comes in a Pint!! I love that it comes in a pint. It's just a good amount. It's a good amount to sit and eat with my girls when we're sad. It's a good amount to share when celebrating! It's a good amount to share at work... basically it's just the perfect amount for sharing and sharing is great! But it is also great to sit and eat by your self when you just want to eat some. All around.... B&J hit it right on the nose with their creation. Okay so they come in pint size... AND THEN... they have got the BEST NAMES for each flavor AND the flavors are endless!!! Half Baked, Phish Food, Chunky Monkey, Americone Dream, Peach Cobbler, etc. But they still just have the regulars that everyone loves too!!! Seriously... Ben and Jerry are the best!!!
I just thought this was kind of funny. It's a new flavor for the nre predidency... instead of yes, we can... its yes, pecan. so creative! I love it!!!
this one just looked really good. A new one to try!!! :D

The Most Talked About Thing!
I heard somewhere that one of the things people talk about the most for "small talk" is the weather. But sometimes talking about the weather is really kind of...the weather is Rexburg is... depressing (for lack of a better word)! The wind yesterday was probably 60mph (NOT exaggerating)! It is May! I wanted to say "You're kidding, Rexburg... I have to walk up this stupid hill fighting the wind... You're FULL ON kidding!!!" So the wind made our power go out. It was out at home for about 3 hours. Our ward social got moved from the park to the girls lounge and the power was out there too. So we all got to sit in the lounge with out any electricity. No electricity = no refrigerator/ freezer = melted otter pops (not the worst thing that could happen but still otter pops are AMAZING when they do have some sort of frozen in them. These didn't have ANY haha). So the power went out AND THEN the internet was down. The internet at the ridge is probably the worst ever. I turned my computer on again this morning to see if it was working, it was not. It was lame. (Good thing I've got lots of free time at work to play online. Haha.) It was probably the windiest wind I have ever seen. I couldn't even do my photo assignment. It was impossible to do anything!! Haha. Seriously... I think that everything that could ever go wrong in Rexburg is directly related to the weather! 1 more year, only one more winter!!! I really just want summer to be here. I'm really hoping that by next week playing outside daily and walking to Horkley's and picnics and Rigby lake and the Sandbar and Wakeboarding (except the water will STILL be too cold) and all the fun things that come with the summer!! I'm really hoping it comes soon!!!
