Graffiti in Rexburg?

You would think... with only 12.5 (yes .5) credits I would have all time in the world to get everything done that I need to. That is a lie!!

Anyways. I went on a walk around Rexburg today and found this wall behind the old Craigos that had graffiti all over it. I took pictures.

What's Your Shadow?

So, you see, there is this girl working on her BFA for graphic design this semester. She asked if I could help her with shooting some images of shadows and didn't tell me much else. So I don't really know what she wants.... anyways, last night she set up some lights in the Spori and I photographed these kids... and their shadows of course... Here are a few of the images I came up with. These kids just played with all sorts of things and played with creating shapes using only a shadow. I think its kind of cool idea. Anyways, I photographed for only about 20 min and here are a few of the results...

We went to Los Angeles for the travel class this semester so I got to spend a few days going to the LA Art Walk, The Getty Museum, The LA County Museum of Art, The beach, and The Autry Museum!! We all took so many pictures.

Here are some of the first ones...

When we were on the art walk on Thursday night Maddy, Melissa, and I stumbled across a bathroom that had a PINK wall!! Naturally, we decided it was a perfect place for a photo shoot!!

21st Birthday

So I know this was almost 3 weeks ago, but I just now have all of the pictures to put up.

The night before, I got home just before curfew to find a poster and a decorated wine glass from Tia. She's is really such a great roommate!!

The pretty pink poster is now hanging on my wall. I LOVE it!!

And here is the glass. Isn't it cute??

The actual day started at 8am. I had to work ALL DAY!!

Then I had class until 630pm. When I got home I had 2 cocoa bean cupcakes from Danielle and Cuzy. Yum!! They also made me the cutest card with googly eyes. (I don't have a picture... sadly).

But my girls are good to me and we got all dressed up and then they took me out to dinner at texas roadhouse.

At Texas we were "that table." You know.. the really annoying one that asks for everything and complains about everything. First of all... our water was NASTY!! It tasted like dirt, so we had to get more. And there was this annoying child sitting behind us. Haha. Melissa ordered the pulled pork dinner. It came with ONE grilled roll. Mel was not so happy about this so she asked for more. And then she asked for our server to grill them too!! Silly Mel.

On the way home we were rocking out to Miley's Party in the USA when we almost hit... A SKUNK. It was running through the road and it was super dark outside and we all SCREAMED!! And then we all about died of laughter.

I had to include a picture of a skunk!!

When we got home Kasey, being the kind soul he is, told me he had a surprise. Since we both love cake mix cookies he made me some, put candles in them, and then he sang

"Happy Birthday" to me with Jocelyn. I do have to say that this was the closest thing to a birthday cake I've had since my 19th birthday (which was only 2 years ago haha). Thanks Kasey!!

My birthday present from my mom came a few days late... and she sent it to the wrong apartment!! Haha. But I still loved it!!! New nail polish... makeup... and other fun stuff!!! I LOVE being a girl!!! :D

It was a pretty great day. It's kind of weird now being able to tell people that I am actually 21. It's SOOOO crazy!! But I am loving it!!

I went to Mexico... a while Ago

Here are some Holga pictures from my trip to Mexico. These are all on the beach in Mazatlan I am not quite done developing and are all just straight scans... nothing photoshoped!! But... I am liking how some of them are turning out so far.

Final Project

Its been a while since I have been on here... mostly because my life is pretty boring and I pretty much do the same thing everyday: Work, School, Homework, Sleep. BUT the end is near, although I am struggling to see a light at the end of the tunnel. It seems like my to do list is never ending!!! My project in World Religions is due today so I thought I would post some pictures of what I did for it. Better believe I created all the pages in photoshop... printed them... bound them... and covered them... It's the first time I've done ALL of it so I'm pretty happy with myself!!! :)Exciting? I KNOW... :D

A Message from Papa

Happy fathers day, one day late! I don't get to talk to my dad too much because he is busy with work and school and so am I. But I got to talk to him yesterday for just a little bit. He had to go down to Santa Barbara for some work at the UC there so we talked about that for a bit and he told me that I should look into going there for grad school. Seeing as I only have 2 semesters left (unless I change my mind about something and am done in Dec. which probably wont happen but there is a possibility!!) I am thinking it might be time to start thinking about grad schools. He sent me a text this morning (yes, my dad AND mom text me:) ) telling me how beautiful it was there!! AHHH. I was so jealous!!! So I am going to have to start going to the advisors and getting everything on track to start applying for the coming year. It's crazy how fast the time has gone. I still remember graduating high school like it was yesterday!!! WEIRD!!!

Plastic Camera

Our last assignment was Holgas. I've played with them before and really love the eerie feel they give the images. I love that they are plastic. I love that you have hardly any control... it makes photography fun... and interesting... :) So... The first role I took I ruined (oops!) so I did another role in about 3o min at porter park and wasn't too sad about what I got. I'm going to start shooting a series for photo 2/ BFA application and part of me is tempted to shoot with holga. We'll see...
