We went out for a fun little photo shoot last week and found this really cool empty place... Naturally it ended up being where we took so many pictures!!

Rexburg Pros

As much as I complain about living in Rexburg sometimes, I will admit that it really is such a beautiful place and has some of the most amazing skies in the summer time. We had been out at Beaver Dick Park for class as the clouds were coming in... so I just took a few pictures of all the awesomeness that was happening :)

Families

I took this picture of my cousin, Katie, and her family at the end of last semester. The girls would not sit still but I think this turned out way better than it would have had they been sitting still. Haha. Such sweet hearts.

Photo Lab Fun

On the last day of the winter semester, the girls I work with and I got together to clean the lab... Since we are all photo majors, it was only natural that we had a small photo shoot.

Its only the first week and I wish Melissa and Kristen were still here. But... I will be done in just 3 more months!!

Environmental Portraits

These are some environmental portraits I took for my documentary photography class

Melissa and I just walked into these places, told them we were working on a project, and asked if I could take a few pictures. It is always funny to me how some people react in front of a camera. Some people are super comfortable and others tend to be like Chandler, from Friends, here no matter how many times they have their picture taken they can't just be themselves. Other people really hate having their picture taken. Its just kind of fun to see all the different reactions as we go to places and just start asking people if we can take a photo.

Anyways... Here are some from 2 shoots. The first ones are from a flower shop and the others are at a dry cleaner, both located right here is sweet sweet Rexburg, Id

8x10 View Camera

I took these for a project in my History of Photography class. One of my favorite photographers, Richard Avedon, did a series of images all taken on a white seamless background. They are awesome! I thought I would try it... NOT as easy as he makes it look... all my backgrounds look a little gray... I think we got the problem figured out though and so I'm going to be trying again really soon!!

Valentine's.Day

Valentine's Day this year fell on a three day weekend. Seeing as I really had no reason to stay in Rexburg, Cousin's Farewell was that Sunday, and Ashley Costley was home from her mission, Utah seemed to be the best option. We drove down Friday and came back Monday.

first bfa

2 posts in one day...

i just started shooting for my bfa show (which will go up in july). i am still working out the kinks and trying to get my concept totally figured out but so far i am doing conceptual still life shoots of fairy tales/children's stories.

i had an assignment due at 3:15. it was all done and ready to print wednesday night but when i went to print the assignment at approximately 9am i realized they were just... less than great. haha. so after work and class i went back in and took these. finished only an hour before... but it was in on time!!! :D
